Register your IT Account

An IT account gives access to a wide variety of campus technical services, including:

  • An @ucalgary.ca email
  • Office 365, including OneDrive for Business, Microsoft Teams, and the Office suite of online and desktop productivity apps
  • AirUC Secure campus wifi
  • Student computer labs and staff workstations
  • My UCalgary, Desire2Learn, Zoom, and other online services
  • Virtual Private Network (VPN)

Your new IT account will be used to login to the many services above as well as your UCalgary Portal. Going forward, your eID account (if you created one) will only be used for making changes to an application for admission or creating a new application for admission. Please keep track of both your IT account and your eID.

Check if you are eligible

To be eligible for an IT account:

  • Students enrolled in a degree granting program may register the day after accepting their offer and paying their deposit.
  • Employees are eligible one day after the hire is completed in the HR system.
  • Non-employees are eligible for an account through the General Associate relationship - wait one day after receiving a UCID number.
  • Students in a non-credit program may be eligible for an account. Contact your instructor for more information.
  • Alumni may not register an IT account, but can register an alumni account.
